Born Erica Sabi and well-known in world music as Empress Massina is a multiple award-winning Zimbabwean female dancehall artiste who has several hit songs to her credit including the most popular song in 2015 titled Ndaiti Ndiwe which featured Killer T.
Massina attended her Basic and Senior high education at Tafara 5 Primary School and Tafara 2 Secondary School respectively.
After her O’ Level education, she had to help her family at the market to sell vegetables because her father was not employed to continue her education.
Massina entered the Zimdancehall music scene in 2014 with a song titled ‘Mandimba’ which was a special tribute to the late South African President, Nelson Mandela.
Empress Massina surprisingly rose to prominence in 2015 and had collaborations with big artists like Dadza D, Nina Grande, Ninja Lipsy, Kabhida, Juwela, just to mention a few.
Massina is of Malawian origin and has some Nyanja lyrics in most of her songs to portray her native originality and cultural heritage in her music.
Massina musically draws her inspirations from artists like Dadza D, Killer T, Alaine, Queen Ifrica, and Buju Banton.
Empress Massina currently has five(5) Albums to her credit namely; Chikondi, Mukwende, Ndaenda Ndaenda, Shungu, and Kuita Kwerudo.
Massina is crowned as Zimbabwe’s Best Female Live Performer and Best Social Message Award winner respectively.
