Panic buying hit Accra after the president pronounced a partial lock down

The President of the Republic of Ghana His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo on 27th March 2020 addresed the citizens of Ghana for the fourth time on the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ghana has recorded 137 people tested positive for COVID-19, 2 recoveries and 4 deaths before the president addressed Ghanaians.

Due to the massive spread of the virus, the president pronounced a 2 weeks partial lock down in Accra, Kumasi and Awutu which takes effect on Monday March, 30, 2020.

The pronouncement of the lock down has brought fear and panic to the people living in these affected lockdown places causing human and vehicle traffic.

Below are pictures and videos of people in Santa Maria a suburb of Accra queueing to purchase liquefied petroleum gas and groceries within the 48hrs time frame given by the president before the partial lock down takes effect on Monday.
