Gov’t will not yield to pressure from celebrities to open borders – Samini

Published

on

Ghanaian artiste, Samini has said he trusts the government to make a better judgment as far as closing the borders and curbing the spread of the coronavirus is concerned.

According to him, it would not take “action or inaction from any of us to make the government do what they need to do for international safety”.

Since the borders were closed in March restricting travels, artistes including D Black, Sarkodie and Pappy Kojo have made it known they were stuck outside Ghana.

They continuously through social media pleaded that the borders be open for them to come back home.

Their fans and a few notable people joined in to share their opinions on why they feel these artistes deserved some sort of ‘celebrity treatment’.

However, the same cannot be said of Samini who is in Canada with his family. He has not been heard pressuring the government or asking that some leniency be extended to his colleagues stuck outside the country.

In an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz Fm, he asked Samini why he has not joined his colleagues who are pressuring the government.

“I just looked at it from be broader picture. I know that the government also knows exactly what they are doing and internationally government are working based on what’s going on internationally across the boarder so if it isn’t time for the government to open the borders, I don’t think our pressure will make them do that,” he stated.

He added “although I can’t wait to get back to my regular routine, I have always just sat back and given the government the benefit of the doubt because Ghana as a nation is one of the countries doing very well in managing the Covid-19 pandemic.”

He also believes people are talking too much instead of just trusting the government to make the right decisions.

Sista Afia should have beaten Freda Rhymz :- Lousika

Published

on

One of Ghana’s finest rappers, Christelle Akua Sika Amankona aka Lousika, who has been on hibernation from the music scene for some time now, has appalled the demeanor of Freda Rhymz in the recent ‘beef triangle’.

Freda Rhymz joined a beef involving Sista Afia and Eno Barony but the ugly part of the whole thing was when Freda Rhymz and Sista Afia nearly exchanged blows at the premises of TV3.

According to Sista Afia, Freda Rhymz had described her as an ‘old lady’ that was why she wanted to beat her up.

Speaking to NY DJ in an interview, Lousika said if she had been in Sista Afia’s position she would have beaten Freda Rhymz up because she is new and young to the game and needed to show some respect to those who paved the way.

“Initially, I thought Sista Afia should not have picked a fight with Freda but later I realised it’s the right thing and should have even beaten her,” she said.

Lousika was also not happy about the statement by Freda that there are only two rappers in Ghana.
