Professor Obiri Danso and Dr Evans-Anfom, Vice-Chancellor and second Vice-Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) respectively, have resigned.

The two dropped their resignation letters few minutes after ordering the University to shutdown indefinitely.

The resignation of the Vice-Chancellors is as result of their inability to calm students during a violent demonstration.

In a 14-page resignation letter dropped at the school’s administration, the Chancellors apologised to Ghanaians for what happened and pleaded with the Controller and Accountant General Department to pay them their salaries at the end of the month.

President Akufo Addo’s niece, Olivia Akufo, has been tipped by the presidency to replace the Vice Chancellor.
